This page explains the standards we aim to apply as we build Pool Care Base. Our goal is to help home pool owners understand maintenance and troubleshooting without presenting general information as a substitute for an inspection.
Sources and scope
For equipment-specific instructions, our source of reference is the relevant manufacturer manual. For water care and safety topics, we prioritize current public-health guidance, product labels and other clearly identified technical sources. Where a recommendation depends on pool type, climate, measurements or product concentration, the guide should make that dependency clear.
Experience and testing
We do not label a product as personally tested, a procedure as performed, or a contributor as certified unless that claim can be supported. Images used to explain a concept are not presented as evidence of hands-on testing.
Chemical and equipment information
General articles cannot establish whether a particular pool is safe to use. Follow current product labels, equipment instructions and applicable local requirements. Electrical faults, gas equipment, structural problems and uncertain chemical conditions may require a qualified professional.
Corrections and updates
When a material error is identified, our aim is to correct the affected guidance and make substantial updates clear. Publication or modification dates should reflect actual editorial work.
Commercial relationships
If an article includes affiliate links or sponsored content, the relevant relationship should be disclosed near that content. We do not claim that a commission establishes product quality, and we do not publish ratings based on invented testing.
Editorial responsibility
Pool Care Base is an educational publication. See About Pool Care Base for the scope of this website.
